Ocean City, Maryland – The Eastern Surfing Association (ESA) is gearing up for its largest competition event of the year.  The Easterns® in Memory of Cecil Lear will be held at Jennette’s Pier in Nags Head, North Carolina September 17-23, 2023.

Easterns® invitations have been posted to the ESA’s Easterns® webpage, with registration opening in the coming weeks.

“We want to give everyone plenty of time to prepare so we are posting the invitations earlier than usual this year,” said ESA executive director Michelle Sommers.  “All of our competitors have school, work and sports to schedule around so we want to offer extra time to find lodging and make it happen.”

The ESA has also posted its 2024 regional championship events to help its members plan long-term and in hopes of alleviating the conflicting schedules with other surfing organizations so surfers can attend all events.

“With so many new surfing organizations, as well as the established ones, planning events along the East Coast, we want to make it easier for our members who may want to surf in multiple events that are held at the same time,” said Sommers.

The ESA’s regional events are held within the same weekends and time frame each year in April and May.  The 2024 dates can be found on ESA’s website www.surfesa.org.
