December 29, 2019 – The Eastern Surfing Association will be represented at Surf Expo January 8-10, 2020 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando Florida.
This year’s highlights will include the announcement of the 2020 ESA All-Star Team, the addition of an ESA Open Longboard division and the continued partnership with the World Surf League (WSL) creating a pathway for the next level of surfing beyond amateur events.
The East Coast Surfing Hall of Fame will be holding its 2020 induction ceremony on Wednesday, January 8, 2020, and will include the ESA’s 2020 All-Star Team induction beginning at 6 pm. Coach Jason Motes will introduce the incoming team members and a quick video.
“The ESA is thankful for the opportunity to showcase its elite surfers, along with its developmental team members,” said ESA executive director Michelle Sommers. “It’s a great way to have several generations of surfers from the East Coast, and around the world, together in one room for one evening.”
The 2020 All-Star team members will be attending Surf Expo on Wednesday proudly wearing their All-Star jackets and representing the ESA prior to the induction.
The induction ceremony may be viewed on Facebook live at 6 pm on January 8, 2020, via the ESA Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/SurfESA/
“The young surfers should know who came before them, and understand why they may have the opportunities that they do today,” said Sommers.
