The Eastern Surfing Association is proud to sponsor and support the Vans 53rd Annual Coastal Edge East Coast Surf Championship (ECSC) event happening in Virginia Beach, Virginia August 16-23, 2015.  The ECSC is the longest-running surf event on the East Coast and is excited to raise the level of amateur surfing in 2015 with the help of the ESA.

“Having the ESA involved with the ECSC makes perfect sense as the ESA is the largest amateur surfing organization in the country,” says Michelle Sommers, ESA’s Executive Director.

ESA_logofacebookProfilesESA Virginia Beach co-directors Jeanine Montgomery and Mike Oliveri have been brought on to create an event that will continue to be globally attended while bringing back the local vibe of Virginia Beach. Montgomery and Oliveri were thrilled when asked to act as competition directors for the amateur side of the event.  “We have been working with the Virginia Beach Jaycees to create an incredible event by implementing live computer scoring, a professional and diverse judging panel from all over the world, offering four-man heats and aligning all divisions with Surfing America,” states Montgomery.  There will be an ESA hospitality tent on the beach throughout the event offering snacks, ding repair, water and simply a place to relax.

Sommers adds, “Jeanine and Mike are two of the hardest working volunteers that know how to run a successful surfing event.  The ESA is proud to have them both leading this event and cannot wait to see the fantastic results.”

There has been a reduction for all competitors on the amateur side of the ECSC.  Previous year entries were $65.00 per division but that is now only $50.00 per division. แผนที่นำทาง  Registration is available online.
The ECSC started as an amateur surfing event and surfing continues to be the core of the week-long festival.  The ECSC launched the careers of local Virginia Beach surfers Wes Laine and Michael Dunphy, both of whom came up surfing in the ESA.
The Coastal Edge East Coast Surfing Championships is a major professional and amateur event that the Virginia Beach Jaycees put on each year.  Several hundred surfers from menehunes to masters compete for East Coast surfing titles, prizes, history and the sheer love of surfing. Other beach oriented sports and recreation include volleyball, a boardwalk 5K run, street skate and ramp contests, swimsuit contests, food and drink concessions, and live music on the beach.
