EasternsThe Eastern Surfing Association will hold its 47th Annual Easterns® Surfing Championship at Jennette’s Pier in Nags Head, North Carolina beginning Sunday, September 14th, with seven straight days of exciting competition featuring the best amateur surfers from the entire East Coast.

“We are thrilled to be back in Nags Head for our largest event of the year,” said ESA Executive Director, Michelle Sommers.  “The Outer Banks always offers contestable surf and Jennette’s Pier is one of the area’s premier surf breaks.”

Competitors qualified for this event through three ESA Regional events, which took place this past spring.  Over 300 competitors surfing in 25 separate divisions will be battling it out for the title of 2014 Easterns® Champion before a panel of professional judges utilizing a computerized scoring system.

A live webcast of the all the 2014 Easterns® action throughout the week will be streaming on the ESA website at www.surfesa.org.  A contestant banquet is scheduled for Thursday, September 18th from 6:30-9:00PM at Jennette’s Pier for the all competitors, their families and spectators.

Outer Banks local Mickey McCarthy will serve as the official event photographer, with photos, as well as important updates and competitor information, posted to the ESA website and Facebook page daily.
