The road to the Eastern Surfing Association’s Easterns® Championships continues this weekend as competitors from South & North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland and Delaware meet for ESA’s Mid-Atlantic Regional Surfing Championships being held at Jennette’s Pier in Nags Head, North Carolina.
The event begins Friday, May 4th, at 7am and runs through Sunday, May 6th, afternoon. Open to the public, spectators in person and viewers online will be in for some exciting surfing with competitors of all ages. ESA sponsors will be on the beach each day offering prizes and products to those attending the event.
Swellinfo.com, ESA’s official wave-forecasting site, is showing the surf will continue to improve through the three days with the best conditions set for Sunday’s youth finals.
Over 200 amateur competitors will be surfing one of the best waves spots along the east coast in the second of ESA’s three qualifying events for its national championship known at The Easterns® that is held each September. The first event was ESA’s Southeast Regional Surfing Championship that was held in Florida two weeks ago. The third and final qualifying event will be ESA’s Northeast Regional Surfing Championship held in Belmar, New Jersey May 18-20.
