Today was a magical day for the Eastern Surfing Association (ESA)’s All-Stars who are currently on the North Shore of Oahu for the Team’s annual training trip.

Epic waves, wind and weather throughout the entire day offered the ESA All-Star boys plenty of sessions of perfect waves.

Kelly Slater, 11-time World Champion and a former ESA All-Star himself, paddled out with the team members at Ehukai Beach Park for a session. Coach Jason Motes, who grew up surfing with Slater in the ESA and was on the All-Star Team with him, invited Slater to surf with the team members to offer the boys a memorable experience. Terry Reis of Surf Shooter Hawaii was on hand to capture it all.

ESA All-Star coach Jason Motes and Krissy Torelli brought Slater seafood from the East Coast provided by Sliders Oyster Bar in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. They were joined by Keoni Watson.

“Today was a blast surfing with Kelly,” said Motes. “We both may be in our upper-40s, but when we are in the water surfing together, it’s as if we are still two frothing ESA groms preparing to surf our heat at Easterns®. I am so grateful for all the time Kelly spent with our All-Stars today.”

The team will be training with Tamayo Perry on Saturday. Be sure to follow @surfesa and @esa_allstars for daily pics!
